Brief description of duties: RSVP is an active volunteer program with nearly 200 volunteers on our roster aged 55 and above. We manage volunteers who serve at any of 50 sites in Dawes & Sioux County, such at food pantries, Closer to Home Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, museums, libraries, etc. Combined, they serve over 20,000 hours per year on average. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual for general office work; designing forms and flyers; working with volunteers; helping with training and social events. Knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel required. Publisher/Canva etc. knowledge is a plus, but not required. Schedule will be determined based on school schedule.

Archaeology Office Assistant

Brief description of duties: Archaeology office assistant will be responsible for scanning and uploading records, inventorying and updating an archaeological collection, and entering data. Student worker must have a driver’s license and be able to lift/carry heavy boxes. Applicants should have good attention to detail, clear handwriting, ability to work as both part of a team and independently, and good computer skills. Students will work under the Forest archaeologist. Location and type of work being performed will vary depending on priorities and weather conditions. Hours 830 AM-4:30 PM Monday-Friday. Ideal candidates will have a background or interest in biology, geology, history, or anthropology.

K-12 Tutoring Position
Position Title: K-12 Tutoring Position

Brief description of duties: Before you graduate, do you want to work with K-12 students and use what you've learned in your teacher education courses? Utilize the pedagogy you've acquired in your college classes by working virtually one-on-one as a Tutor for rural Nebraskan students in grades K–12. Chadron State College will be hiring teacher education candidates who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program to serve as Tutors. Tutors will provide assistance to K–12 students virtually in the subjects and grade levels that are specified. Tutors are asked to contribute six (6) hours of tutoring availability each week. Tutoring will take place on campus in a designated area of Chadron State College with required equipment (computer, tablet, and headset) supplied. A variety of Tutors will be utilized. Teacher education candidates majoring in all endorsements are welcome to apply, with the understanding that the majority of tutoring is expected to focus upon assisting K-12 students in the areas of English, math, science, and social studies. Paid Tutor training will begin mid-January 2024; selected Tutors will work for the duration of the Spring 2024 semester. Qualifications Must be teacher education candidates who has been (or is able to apply) successfully admitted to Chadron State College’s Teacher Education Program. Must successfully pass a background check. Must possess a positive attitude, be self-motivated, maintain a strong work ethic and confidentiality, and desire to help others become successful. Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at Chadron State College. Must be able to work on campus. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Wage $17/hour Hours & Location Tutors can expect to work six (6) hours per week in the afternoon-early evening on campus at Chadron State College. During each shift, Tutors will work in a designated room on Chadron State College’s campus.
